I put them into risotto, usually with chestnut mushrooms and some garlic + parsley.

They seem to go down pretty well

I don't try to make them interesing.
I put them into soup and blend them and then add the interesting stuff.

They're great in a pork and borlotti bean casserole and the dcs go mad for them!

overweightnoverdrawn · 07/05/2009 10:46

Any kind of bean seems to go down well in a veggie chilli or curry.

Nigella Lawson has a recipe in I think 'How to Eat' called pink fish and beans which uses them and which was her daughters favourite recipe when she was going through her pink phase. Can't remember full details but I think it was with trout.

Mine tend to stay somewhere at the back until I think...'oh god, those beans'

Then I chuck them in a soup, casserole, or curry and hope the ds or dh don't complain!

I love beans generally, they complain unless it's Heinz on toast. Grrr..

hairtwiddler · 07/05/2009 11:30

Dh's speciality - hutspot Basically dutch vegetable mash served with sausage. It's lovely.

Well I tried then with chopped tomato and herbs and very garlicky vinaigrette and I liked it but no kids ate it.
