I got a lot of inspiration from the breakfast thread so lets continue the good work

WE usually have a sandwich or soup and bread and then a pile of fruit as I am 10/10ing.

Adn cofffe, natch.

Jeffa · 01/05/2009 13:26

Sushi

Which makes me sound really posh. but its that or pick at stuff all afternoon because im hungry.

Takver · 01/05/2009 14:18

Either leftovers or else something like beans on toast / cheese & salad sandwich / scrambled egg with greens.

My weirdest lunch (according to DH) is kale on toast with lime pickle, but I like it .

We work from home, which makes it easier.

notamumyetbutoneday · 01/05/2009 16:05

leftovers (today was aubergine bake) or homeade soup or pasta or salad. plus yoghurt and fruit.

humptyNdumpy · 01/05/2009 22:34

I might start making my own soup and freezing it for lunch - thats very healthy isnt it >

A massive salad of mixed leaves, toms, cucumber, grated carrot, sweetcorn, celery, radishes, sometimes avocado, topped with cottage cheese or a smoked mackerel fillet and pumpkin seeds. A PITA to make but it's HUGE and filling and the protein stops me getting hungry mid-afternoon, which is what happens if I eat soup.

sagacious · 02/05/2009 08:19

I'd like to say a version of Dairymoo's lunch.

Sadly its usually a sandwich of some discription or soup and bread (courtesy of Mr Heinz)

humptyNdumpy · 02/05/2009 10:30

I wonder if I too would get hungary eating soup?

I really would love too eat your lunch dairymoo but I'm not a salad fan

I have found that adding some protein to whatever it is I'm having - soup/salad/sarnie really makes a difference to my hunger levels in the afternoon. Even a massive bowl of soup leaves me hungry by 3:30/4 if it's just pureed veggies. Add a decent amount of chicken/fish/pulses and I'm fine.

I've done a lamb roast dinner for everyone else.

I'm having a yoghurt.

I have leftovers or something quick, like:

Omelette & salad - I've got really good at doing Spanish-style omelettes with potato & onion, or frittata with lots of sweet peppers.

Scrambled eggs on toast with beans.

Jacket potato or baked sweet potato with a filling - tuna 'mayo' made with tuna, peppers, fat free creme fraiche and a bit of a sweet chilli sauce is one of my faves.

Grilled halloumi with avocado salad.

Houmous & cucumber on toast.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 03/05/2009 13:29

fine thanks. A bit sore today for some reason. Bloated and feeling very full all the time. Apart from that, all is well, except I am feeling a bit slutty today. I have a new top and bra on and they are, erm, rather more plunging than I was expecting them to be, so I am peering down at massive amounts of pasty white cleavage and wondering if that's really appropriate when my parents and grandad are on their way over.

But then, can I really be bothered to iron something else. I think not.

How are you?

Today I had a salmon sandwich. Usually a sandwich as it's the easiest to make, baked potato if I can be bothered, or some toast etc. Not very exciting really!
