Jam!

The school os having a fete and I offered to make some jars of jam to sell to raise some money for the school coffers...

The only thing is - last time I did this it took ages and I spent a fortune on the ingredients (luckily they have saved jars for me this time). I don't want to spend a fortune on the imgredients this time (I also have to bake cakes and scones and make the sandwiches!

Any ideas? I love strwaberry and raspberry but at £1.49-2 per punnet for stwabs (getting maybe 3 tiny jars out of it) it could work out costly.

Need to make about 20-25 smallish jars.

Raspberry is very easy. we got some very cheap (almost going off) ones from the market recently (I know totally out of season) and they made fab (and very quick) jam. Yu could aso use frozen fruit. also if you have access to apples - apple jelly (turn it into mint jelly / rosemary jelly by stirring in herbs). i would stay away from marmalade - takes too long imo.

Marmalade and lemon curd are both fab but more christmassy I thing!

Will try raspberries I think. Yum yum yum

It would probably just be cheaper to buy bon maman's raspberry jam(it doesn't get better, even home-made won't top that stuff) and decant it inot your own jars

Seriously, sugar is not cheap these days.
