Anyone got a recipe for something good involving basil and strawberries?

I read the other day that they go really well together, and having tried a strawberry with a basil leaf wrapped round it I have to say it's my new favourite thing.

Has anyone got any decent recipes though? I found one for strawberry and basil pesto, but wondering what else I could try?

Strawberry and basil jam is nice.

My nan made this for a party once and it was delicious.

Jamie Oliver has a recipe for pineapple, where you 'dress' it with mint and sugar that has been ground together with a pestle and mortar. Perhaps you could try similar with the strawberries, bashing the basil with a tiny bit of sugar?

Can vouch for StirlingtheStrong's basil and white chocolate creams with balsamic strawberries... it is my favourite pudding of all time, and it is a piece of piss to make.

(although don't make the strawberries too far in advance if you want them to stay sticky)

thank you for all the gorgeous sounding recipes! I made basil gnocchi in the end - but I have more and I really fancy the chocolate creams...

'dress' the strawberries with lime juice and basil. make it in advance and chill it. very nice.
