how many vegetables does your toddler eat... honestly?

ds is nearly 15mo, and has never been a great eater, but is getting seriously picky these days. most fruit and yoghurt are still safe bets, but with vegetables, we're down to just 3: tomatoes, sweetcorn and peas (and technically, tomato is a fruit too). sometimes I can hide grated courgette or carrots in a tomato sauce, but he's getting wise to that. It's getting hard to think of things to cook for tea, and he certainly isn't getting close to 5 a day.

A guy at work boasts how his daughter eats everything, so, please, tell me about your toddler. (Keeping my fingers crossed at least some of you have a dc as bad as mine!)

Dd is 23 months and is becoming quite fussy with veg. She loves sweetcorn and carrots, will sometimes eat peas but other than that.... Even coating veg in cheese won't work anymore lol.

She's definitely more of a fruit and yoghurt girl.

Mine used to eat everything but has got fussier as he has got older. All he will eat is peas, carrots, sweetcorn, olives (really a fruit) baked beans (does that count? lol!) but will eat alot of fruit. I think that's quite good as I know some toddlers who won't eat any fruit/veg.

ds is 4 and eats every type of veg i can think of - and i can think of lots!

Pretty much any cooked vegetable that we've tried him with and we're vegetarian so that's quite a lot!

He won't eat raw veg though, other than tomatos and cucumber if sliced finely and in a sandwich. He treats lettuce with great suspicion!

ds (22 months) will eat raw carrot, cooked tomato, peas, broccoli and spinach. If it's integrated into a dish (e.g. blended in a sauce) he'll eat pretty much anything if he's in the mood.

dd (4) will eat most veg apart from mushrooms. She's only recently started to eat lettuce.

They both adore peas in the pod - I think it's the interactive element. I'm very much looking forward to the pea season so I can buy them from the UK with a clear conscience rather than freighted in from Kenya (which I only do if I feel his vitamin levels are dropping to dangerously low levels)...

ds 2.9 won't eat any veg or fruit (except bananas)

I give him innocent smoothies just so he get some vitamin C.

Doesn't eat much of anything really.
