Quick! I need a recipe for a simple stir-fry sauce

Have just realised I forgot to buy a sauce for tonight's veggie stir fry. I have store-cupboard essentials like brown sauce, white wine vinegar, curry paste etc (unfortunately out of soy sauce) but not sure how to throw them together for a basic sauce.

Anyone got a basic recipe?

TIA!

Sorry, all mine have soy sauce in -

Have you got any 5-spice? Mix with honey and lemon juice, stock and a bit of cornflour?

Soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce mixed together go really well - if you have either! A spoonful of each or more - depending on if the chilli sauce is hot or mild.

For the sweet and sour sauce
1 red onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
50g/2oz sugar
50g/2oz canned pineapple, finely chopped
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp white wine vinegar

Sorry didn't read this properly - now see you said no soy sauce!

ginger (ground if you're totally buggered and have none fresh, or leave out altogether)
chopped garlic lots
honey/sugar (quite a bit)
a bit of chilli powder if kids dont' mind
worcester sauce or even tomato ketchup
balsamic vinegar - just a little, leave it out if you don't have
bit of stock

You really can make something quite nice with this - better than the supermarket ones and v kid friendly

Thanks everyone! DH has thrown something together that's a bit like Onebat's, will see how it turns out...
