Thinking of making a Peppa Pig shaped bday cake.

Am I mad?

How could I do it?

I'm thinking of just making an enormous square sponge and then carving out approx. the right shape and decorating it with ready roll icing. Does this sound like the right way to go?

Any better ideas?

Dd (will be 3) has also suggested a Tamba cake but I think that this would be too tricky to shape so then I think I would just do sponge topped in white ready to roll with a Tamba picture on top.

we made 2 cakes and draw picture/traced it andthen carved out cake - covered in pink roll out (as you say) and made her look like peppa!
Good tip- after you've made the cake, freeze it, take it out and 20 mins or so later carve, its much easier.
