mung dhaal, how do i cook it?

the packet said to boil for 15 minutes, then add tomato lemon and some spices, and simmer for a further 10 minutes. at this point, it had turned to mush...... does anyone know how to cook it so it doesnt look like smash?

it will always turn to mush, but that is what dhaal is.

If you soak the beans overnight, they will need less cooking, so might retain their shape a bit more, but still expect a little mushiness.

Do a google search for muung dhaal and see if the recipes are similar to the one you used.

omdb, but it isnt turned to mush in restaurants, or when they cook it in pakistan... so why does it turn to mush here in england?
i never thought of googling.. how thick am i?
