low carb diet

My neighbour has lost 2 stone in 2 months by cutting out bread, potatoes, rice, pasta etc.

I really need to lose 2 stone. But I love my toast for breakfast.

Can anyone suggest a filling but carbohydrate free breakfast?

I take a packed lunch to work, but I think I can do "salady" stuff - its just breakfast that has me stumped.

thanks.

Porridge is the best. Carbs but 'good' ones. Good for you, fills you up, keeps blood sugar level and is cheap as chips.

I have done low carb and it was eggs eggs eggs!A friend of mine has just lost loads by eating 2 big bowls of cereal a day and fruit in between. Not balanced at all but she looks and feels great.Dp keeps asking why we have so much cereal in I am going to do it this week as I have been in some bads habits recently and need to stop

soya and linseed bread by burgen is a good lowish carb bread if you want ot still have toast.
I expect you friend has been on an extremely low carb diet to lose that much ..so below about 30grams a day.

It's a great way to lose weight quickly

I find breakfast hard as well-hence the soya bread.

Would you have time to make an omelette?

Or something continental like cold meats and cheeses.

Noddy, that eweight won't stay off. it never does if people do ridiculous temporary things. You need to change your life, not diet for afew weeks.

I do the GL diet by Patrick Holford and it is very effective and actually see it as a new way of eating/change of eating habits. Very similar to low carb diet...

Guarantee she will be back to oldweight in a year. Cereals are dull [and expensive]. You could make a lovely warming vegetable stew or soup for the same no. of calories.

I am going on holiday in July - and I currently look awful - like a beached whale. Nothing fits - I am increasing my exercise - have been for an hour's walk this afternoon - but I am seriously impressed by neighbour's success! I am going to give it a go.

I usually have the bread with lots of seeds etc, but wasn't sure whether I should cut that out too. I usually have just the one slice.

Will consider the porridge.....
