Oh I LOVE it, but only the proper stuff. ot some from Tesco a while ago, and it was an unexpectedly large bottle (ordered online) and decribed itself as "truffle flavoured". I suspect it hadn't actually made even a passing acquaintance with a real truffle, and was no good IMO.

Not sure where you get the real stuff from...Waitrose? It's divine on salad btw.

I'm not keen, personally - the flavour is too strong for me. If you know your dad likes it, though, then it would be a fab gift!

MayorNaze · 18/04/2009 19:21

i don't know that he WILL like it - is it mushroomy? if it is, then he will! i like to try and buy him gourmet treaty type things as he loves to experiment buit wouldn't splash out IYSWIM

It's sort of pungent in a garlicky way. Actually I'm crap at describing flavours.

MayorNaze · 18/04/2009 19:27

oh i expect he will like it, anything flavoury is right up his street

is there anywhere online i can order it? have googled but loads and loads of links came up and i don't know which are the goodies, hence the thread

Anything with essence hasn't been near the product it is trying to be.

Extract has.

HTH.

You only need a tiny amount. Try a few drops in scrambled eggs - mmmmm. Or on butternut squash soup.
