???? So I was in Lidls and orange juice tetrapak was £1.29. A big increase of the 79p it used to be so I passed it up. Today in Waitrose, tetrapak OJ 86p! Has the world turned upside down!!!!? I've found Lidl relatively expensive lately!!

I had a wander round our local lidl for the first time in ages the other day (usually my oh just goes on the bike for nappies but I walked with him), found it really expensive compared to what it was when we used to shop there all the time

yes lidl nolonger seems so cheap to me know

Is tetrapak juice made from concentrate?

if it is then both are shite imo

I think it's worth paying for fresh OJ

HappyChildminderBerkshire · 14/04/2009 12:33

Yeah fresh is nicer, but DH prefers tetrapak?? and it is ALOT cheaper. Tropicana is soooo expensive these days

I always buy it on offer, there is usually something fresh on offer ,but yes tis £££
Fancy preferring tetrapak !?

Why do you say that ggirl?
Do you have inside knowledge

We only have concentrate. AFAIK it is juice that has had the water taken out then put back in. Ok, it has been mucked about with slightly but it is just juice. It's not a juice 'drink' that is often in the same packaging, roughly the same price and is water, sugar and other ingredients. Now THAT'S foul. The trouble with fresh juice is the shelf life. With the concentrate DP gets 24 packs at a time, with fresh we tend to run out too often.

About Waitrose - they do have a policy that branded goods should be no more expensive than other supermarkets. Undercutting is a new one though!

I have been brainwashed by my mother who lives in Canada where the juice made from concentrate is seen as evil poison.

Furball · 14/04/2009 15:58

I buy 8 cartons at a time from sainsburys and tescos for £5 which works out at 62P!

brimfull · 14/04/2009 15:58

she is probably talking shite though
