Hi,

My 10 month old DS has just started gagging and vomiting a bit with certain solid food...he's been eating really well for last 4 months - and last couple months eats what we do pretty much - anything and everything - just lightly mashed/chopped. But just this last week or so just been struggling with some things - 3 times now with toast he's barely taken a bite and gags and throws up a bit? Certain foods fine - yoghurts with fruit, veg in cheese sauce etc - but seems more 'solid/lumpy' or sticky foods, like mashed pots etc just make him gag - then that's it - he doesn't want to eat again...

He's always eaten really well - but is now quite sceptical himself, and often is wary, or uncertain about eating - I guess he's worried it will make him sick.

Any ideas? He's otherwise happy and super healthy - except for bit of a cough at the mo - could it be that? A flemmy throat maybe?

Thanks

Sounds like it may be painful to swallow foods so he's avoiding them? Or could he be teething, so maybe he's not chewing the foods so much so it's harder to swallow? Sounds like something that will pass, so leave it for a bit then try again. He'll come back to them IME.
