Am making this cake (though not the rose petals) for tomorrow.

I have put extra raspberries in the actual mix because I couldn't be arsed to weigh them and I am also going to put raspberries on top with the drippy icing rather than rosepetals.

So for the filling I am thinking it will be too much to have raspberries in with the clotted cream as well. Am I right? Or do I just put fewer in the middle.

TIA

Depends how many rawspeberries you;re going to put on the top. Personally, I love raspberries so would behappy with them in the cream too

I was going to scatter a box full willy nilly. But I could put half in middle and half on top which probably would work.

I want it to look impressive (well reasonably with my cake baking skills) as is going to be for a party.

The mixture has turned pink so very very raspberry.

Smells unbelievably lovely cooking (and I'm not a big cake fan).

And looks very light - kinda moussey.

I would tumble all over top, for maximum "oooh" effect

Ok have taken it out the oven and tried the bits that accidently happened to fall off the side

It is gorgeous but very very raspberry (think raspbeery with a hint of cake). SO will put just on top rather than in middle as well.

Will restrain myself raspberry wise.

Is lovely and light but so much so I think it is going to fall apart when I try to cut it in half (I only own one cake tin).

Damn it tastes good though.

(sorry cake making has somewhat excited me after shit day )

tumbling sounds good - drizzled with icing (just water & icing sugar) over the cake and raspberries, over the cake but under the raspberries or both? Can't decide.

I can make nice tasting food but my presentation skills are shit.

mmm, sound slovely.

I'd drizzle over cake and raspberries
