Birthday picnic suggestions?

We are going for a day out on my birthday and I'm making a picnic.

I want it ot be nice but practical. Its only for DH, dd (17 months) and myself.

Any suggestions?

boiled eggs, carrot sticks and cucumber sticks with some hummus (or similar dip), pringles gotta have pringles on a picnic), some crusty bread, chicken, grapes, chopped apples, mini suasages.
