I love cheese scones but bizarrely although I have about 30 cookery books I can't find a recipe anywhere. Does anyone have a favourite one?
Thanks

this one I know it is not traditional in using oil - but it so easy and worked perfectly I did half cheddar and half gruyere cheese - because that's all I had and I loved it.

Thanks Timmette. Gosh if mine rise like the ones in the photo I'd be happy.
I wonder if I could do butter instead of oil... I do like butter

So do I and I was very sceptical of the oil bit but it was super easy and they were demolished in one go by dh and ds.

Eating them now. They are great! I used oil like the recipe said but am slathering them with butter. They didn't rise badly.
Thanks again.

Den lepard on the guardian website did a lovely cheese and garlic scone recipe a while back, I expect it is still on there

Thanks Reikizen - I'd better hurry up and eat these so I can try those, hadn't I? [wolfs down 3 more]
