Anyone ever made their own easter eggs?

Or could maybe give me a bit of advice to work out how much chocolate I'd need to make one using a 5.5" mould?

I know it's probably a long shot, but thought it would be nice to do a couple for the lo & my oh & stick some bits to them to look like easter bunnies

& yes, I know the easy answer is buy them, just thought this would be more fun!

DD & I did a kit last year

It was not a great success - but lots of fun

They broke coming out of the mold (or is it mould?)

But I don't think it was good quality chocolate

lucysmam, that is so nice - I did used to make eggs some years ago, but I cannot remember how much choc you need for an egg. Also, it does depend on how thick and yummy you want to make it. My best advice is, start with one layer for each egg, and let it set. From that, work out how much more you will need to give the layers that you want, and shop accordingly. Good luck - I am sure that your eggs will e awesome.

Now I'm wondering about mould/mold Katy!!

I'll get a few bags of choc drops just to be on the safe side so I don't run out then.

Will be something fun to do with the lo with any leftovers as well. But they're going to be my night in on my own project (so I can lick the bowl when I'm done, without having to share with my 2yo!)

Oh gosh I didn't mean to correct you

I just get confused

Sorry

ILoveChocolateCake · 07/04/2009 22:00

don't worry about it! I am sat here wondering which it should be though (am lucysmam with new name btw)

I'd rather be corrected than get something wrong and be when I finally realise

I really haven't a clue
