Lamb for easter

10 replies

geordieminx · 06/04/2009 10:36

I have never bought/cooked a joint of lamb just chops.

I would like to do a lamb dinner for easter but have no idea what kind of joint to buy/how to cook it/what to serve it with.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks

This is really nice and also easy to do.

Leg of lamb - bung it in the oven. Easy peasy.

Delia one looks nice.

Do leg joints all come on the bone? {{{thicko emoticon}}}}}}}

There will only be dp ds (who is 2 and eats like a sparrow) and I, so we dont need a huge amount, happy to spend more on a nice piece?

This lamb and anchovy recipe I put up a few months ago is truly one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. If it wasn't for the fact that I have some lovely pork in the freezer which praticality says I must eat, this is what I would be doing this sunday...

OhBling · 06/04/2009 11:33

Oh, and please don't be put off by anchovies - it is absolutely delicious and does not taste fishy at all.

it also equally delicious as leftovers for the next few days.

Sainsbury's have them half price atm - bought one for £8 (3.99 kg) that will serve us 6 easily. Have frozen it so all I need to do is remember to take it out.....

My ds hears lambs bleating when he's in the garden and says mmm I quite fancy lamb (he's 12 and not about to turn vegetarian!)
