second hand kenwood chef A701A?

i'd love a new one unfortunatly we cant afford it at the mo but iv seen lots of these ones on e-bay are they any good does anyone have one?
i realise they were built in the 60/70's but they were built to last right?

I've got one of these - think mine was made in the 70s. It doesn't exactly look swanky and new, but works fine - have had one problem which my Uncle fixed easily. Think you can usually find somewhere local where they will maintain them for you.
The only drawback with mine (and don't know if this is true for the modern ones) is it is very very heavy. I can get it out by myself, but it is heavy to move around - you wouldn't want to keep it too far from where you will use it. Mine comes with a china bowl though so that adds to the weight.

the 70s 701 and 901s are good. Built to last

We did kill our 60's one recently - it would have needed a new 'Island' part (the bit that turns the beater). It was going to cost a lot to mend so went for a new one instead.

sorry ...either from my research. I ended up with the 701 because that was what I grabbed as a bargain at the time
