DD loves gravey and that will make her eat much more of her dinner. Can anyone think of anything else I can give her as a sauce?

Also what are you toddlers fav meals?

I know of someone who used to puree veg to make sauce, carrots = orange gravy, broccoli = green gravy etc. Worked a treat for her DC

I thought cheese sauce would be a good one, have never heard of onion sauce though, think I would quite like thaqt one too...

I will give the coloured gravey a try, how old was her dc when she tried this? It would be great if that works for my dd.

Tomato? (not ketchup - more like thin tomato pasta sauce)

I've just made my dd a lovely stuffed jacket potatoe, with chees, chicken, onions and tomatoe and she wouldn't eat it. Then I put gravey on top and she is eating it. I did feel abit weird about chedder cheese and gravey but hey its easier then making her a whole new dinner.

You need to learn to make a basic white sauce, NSM

You can add ANYTHING to a basic white sauce.

You need butter, flour, and milk.

melt a good lumper of butter in a saucepan on a low heat

Mix in (with a wooden spoon) 2 tablespoons of flour

Gradually add milk whilst mixing the flour/butter dough into it (still over the heat.

After you've stirred in about half a pint, stir it for 2/3 minutes on a low heat until it's thick and gloopy. This is your basic white sauce.

now add any of the following

Cheese
Chpped ham
grated onion
Mushrooms
bacon
ANYTHING that takes your fancy, to be honest! Nice poured on veg! (with some salt and pepper for the adults)
