Sounds weird, I know, but why does tinned soup taste cheesy?

I don't often have tinned soup beyond Heinz Cream of Tomato (best taste in the world and the King of Comfort Food and Nostalgia) - but recently whenever I have had this it tastes cheesy. I have just tried a vegetable and beany one from M&S and it tastes... cheesy.

Nothing else, only tinned soup. Is it just me or can it be something chemical in the tins?

Don't have tinned soup often. If it has milk or cream in could it have a 'sterilised milk' smell.

Ah. That would explain it. I thought it was because I don't often have it and I'd broken my tastebuds!
