FlapJack - Help Me!

I've just made some flapjack for the first time.

Do you have to wait until it's totally cold to get it out the dish? Mine keeps collapsing into an oaty mess when I try to get it out with a spatula

Try putting it in the fridge for a bit. My flapjacks are usually on the squidgy side even when cold, even though I remember my mum's being jaw breakers! It's usually best to mark out the portions while still quite soft but it is easier to get them out when properly cold.

Not till hard set but until cold enough that the butter and syrup will hold it together.

Thank you! All may not be lost then.

It's still quite warm and I tried to prise a bit out and it broke up. (Then I had to eat it!)
