Inspired name for Catering Business?

iloverosycheeks · 31/03/2009 11:58

Help! My friend is setting up a Catering Business and is struggling to think of a good name.. here's what she says about it

the idea is to be young, approachable, unpretentious, fun but not childish, nothing too fancy or corporate sounding. I dont want to be the next biggest thing in catering, I just wanna cook!!!

Does anyone have any ideas or has seen any good names anywhere outside of UK that she could nick? I am always telling her about what a good source of info and ideas Mumsnet is so over to you!!

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 31/03/2009 12:02

Fill a Face
The Catering Zone
Yum Scrum

Iwannacook.com
Iwannacookforyou.com

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 31/03/2009 12:19

oh yes i agree about the co.uk thing - a .com may make it sound a bit larger and multi national as opposed to a smaller .co.uk

Make sure the website is available before you name to avoid renaming!

There's a builder round here and his business is called
weturnup.co.uk very memorable.

purpleduck · 03/04/2009 13:21

I like "Zest"

salome64 · 04/04/2009 23:44

You can use a name even if its already in use as a trading name if it doesn't impact on another business. So if there is a zesty is Manchester, you can still use that as a trading name if you are geographically distant and wont impact on its trade.

We had a deli/cafe around here which lasted about 5 mins for reasons not to do with how lovely they were, which was called Relish. Thought that was top.

Quattrocento · 05/04/2009 00:10

Can it be slightly cringey? Like a hairdressers called Curl Up and Dye?

Truly Scrumptious

Another wafer thin mint

I do like Yum Scrum - wish I'd thought of it.

tigerdroveoverthebunnies · 05/04/2009 00:14

I'd go for Justwannacook.

Or if really young: gr8t pl8ts.

skramble · 05/04/2009 00:17

Fill a face is horrible, sorry

iSOLOvechocolate · 05/04/2009 00:20

Confidential Cooking.

Quattrocento · 05/04/2009 00:22

Confidential cooking sounds as though something else is being offered with the food ...

skramble · 05/04/2009 00:25

Functional Food, sounds a bit dull I suppose.

(insert freinds name) Mary's Catering, is that too twee. Perhaps her second name if it sounds right, or the towns name. Richmond Catering or McTavish's Catering

thumbbunny · 05/04/2009 00:27

You need, we feed.

Not functional food, that has a totally different interpretation these days (functional foods have almost medicinal properties)

skramble · 05/04/2009 00:32

Cook's Cusine.

Incredible Edibles

Devour

Time to Dine

Betty's Banquets

Book a Banquet

Book a Buffet

Fecking Feasts
