Shredded wheat nests with mini eggs on top!!

Cies · 31/03/2009 11:49

cornflakes. I might have to make some now, as I have both cornflakes and chocolate in the cupboard.

MmeLindt, I just had my sister on the phone (BTW she owns a B&B in Le Bouveret if you ha ve family comming over to visit [cheeky emoticon]) She says I am all mixed up with my chocolate and the ones with "graisse de coco are the fondants au chocolat that people make arround Christmas time! Maybe you had the joy of sampleing them?

Her recipe for rochers au chocolat is this one:

300/400 gr chocolat (you can mix "au lait" "noir" ou "blanc" to taste)
1 tblsp of butter
1 sachet of "sucre vanille" (vanilla sugar)(not if you make them with white choc!)

melt in a bain-marie

Add cornflakes (flakes shoud all be nicely covered but not dripping with chocolate IYSWIM)

With two tea spoons shape into little rocks and put in fridge to harden. she sprinkles the dark ones with icing sugar and the "chocolat blanc" ones with cocoa powder!

MmeLindt · 31/03/2009 11:56

Does noone else put sultanas in their cripsie cakes?

Gorionine
Oh, I missed the fondant ones at Christmas (about the only chocolate things that I did not taste at Xmas I think)

Will try that recipe, sounds good.

Do you still have my email? Does your sister have a website? The B&B is a bit far away for us to park visitors in, but I would be interested in perhaps a weekend away with a friend later in the year.

Cornflakes! Has anyone mentioned adding baby formula? Nowhere near as nice without!

PinkTulips · 31/03/2009 12:04

cornflakes for crispie cakes... easier to bite into and tastier

rice crispies for squidgy marshmallow cakes... perfect texture in the gooiness

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2009 12:05

Rice crispies if you're just using melted choc.

Cornflakes if you're using simnel's recipe with the syrup.

Rice crispies for Mars Bar cake (simnel's rice crispie bites recipe)

Rice crispies if you're making that marshmallow stuff.

Shredded wheat if they're for easter with mini eggs & a cheap fake chicken thing in

EyeballsintheSky · 31/03/2009 12:37

You're going to do Mr Kipling out of a lot of business, parading around with your cheap fake chicken things!

HSMM · 31/03/2009 12:47

Any cereal with raisins. (a friend of mine used to make them with melted mars bars)

MmeLindt · 31/03/2009 12:48

Gorionine
Oh, looks lovely. Have bookmarked. Thanks. You might like to get the post removed though, as it does kind of identify you.

Off to buy some chocolate for making crispie cakes with the DC this afternoon.

PheasantPlucker · 31/03/2009 12:51

Rice crispies. No question.

And 'no' to raisin/sultanas. It would be so very wrong

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 31/03/2009 12:58

rice crispies and I would only use chocolate - I don't like them gooey I like them crunchy.

blissa · 31/03/2009 18:49

Shredded wheat, Easter or not

Prefer rice crispies to cornflakes

Beantin · 31/03/2009 18:58

Jordans Crunchy cereal ones are far better!

MadameCastafiore · 31/03/2009 19:02

Cornflakes

And you have to have Cadbury's Dairy Milk, golden syrup and butter or they are crunchy and not squelchy and chewy!

369thegoosedrankwine · 31/03/2009 19:34

Cornflakes.

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 31/03/2009 19:36

rice crispies

Goober · 31/03/2009 19:36

Rice crispies OR Shreaded wheat.

moshie · 31/03/2009 19:53

Rice crispies, that's why they're called crispie cakes. And yes to raisins.

Themasterandmargaritas · 31/03/2009 20:04

We are stuck with cornflakes, like it or not. Rice Krispies and Shredded Wheat cost more than £6 a packet here

pollywobbledoodle · 31/03/2009 20:44

cornflakes, sultanas and no watering down of the chocolate with any other ingredients...
