I'm about to lose my internet connection for at least a week due to some work being carried out on the front of our house where the phone line comes in. Was planning on a trial run of my footy stadium cake, down to icing and figures if I can find them, over the next week or so, so . . . .

Will thinly rolled sugarpaste icing dry hard enough to use as a kind of lid for the bit that's covered? Or, would it be too brittle when it's dry?

If not sugarpaste, how about flowerpaste? I assume it dries a little harder since you need the flowers to keep their shape

Thanks for any info

Use flowerpaste - don't roll it too thin, and make several to allow for breakages . You shouldn't eat it though, if you use flowerpaste.

it wasn't to eat, just because the stadium I'm attempting has a kind of lid that covers up to about the edge of the pitch so thought I'd try & re-create that as well & then if it doesn't work I have time to 'tweak' my design a bit & think of something else to use. Thanks mablemurple, I'll get some flowerpaste while I'm out tomorrow
