Just wanted to share this with you as I know some children have dairy allergies. A friend gave me the recipe and I regularly make it (infact there is one in the oven now!) despite everyone in the family happily eats dairy stuff!
3oz margerine
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp vanilla extract
10 oz self raising flour
1 oz cocoa powder
4 oz castor sugar
1 tsp bicarbonate powder
put margerine, syrup and vanilla in a bowl and add 300mls of hot water and allow to melt.
Add rest of ingredients and mix to form batter. Throw into a greased loaf tin and put in a preheated oven of 160 degrees for about 50 mins.
