Sweet potato question

I'm cookinig a curry in the oven - just a jar sauce and chicken breast pieces with some chick peas. I've got a sweet potato in the cupboard - could I just chop this up and bung it in with the curry to cook in the oven for the hour or would I have to cook it first seperately?

SHould be fine in the oven with the curry. They cook quite quickly so might be quite mushy.

Yes, definitely. Sweet potato cooks very quickly, especially if it's in a sauce or liquid. To give you an idea, if I make roast potatoes and sweet potatoes, I cut the potatoes half the size of the sweet potatoes and they do in the same amount of time.
