Quick question, slow cooker and chicken pieces

I have some thigh fillets which I want to bung in the slow cooker tomorrow. I've only ever used it for casseroles but I'm doing the whole roast bit so don't want anything other than chicken in there to get that out of the way and concentrate on super roasties. My (pathetically small) manual says the default setting and cooking time is 8 hours on high, which is what I usually use. So do I use the same settings and am I going to have to set my alarm for 5am?
