I'm a bit scared of tomatoes. Anyone else?

It's the seeds mainly. Aren't they horrible and sticky? Ugggh! Shudder. Makes me seriously uncomfortable to be in the same room as them - especially cut up into pieces.

I have spoken to several other people who don't like the little buggers... anyone else out there with a silly phobia?

I like to bite into tomatoes whole, like an apple. Mmmmmm. For some reason, this upsets my Mum!

I have a funny thing about tomatoes too, don't really like to eat them if someone else has prepared them

I hate them and once started shaking when one was on my plate (am really not as odd as that makes me sound) it is the seeds with me too. They're like little blisters

Can My DH join? He is petrified of them, mainly the seeds.
Although strangely will eat tomato based sauces or soup.

Yes, Pat, cooked up tomatoes are absolutely fine. I don't understand it.

It's only tomatoes in their pure form though- I love a bit of ketchup as much as the next person, and sundried tomatoes are yuuummmmmmm its just the whole seed situation that puts me off. Especially cherry tomatoes. Watching someone put one into their mouth just makes me think of popping eyeballs

Not so much tomatoes, but pomegranates cut in half weird me out a bit. They look like zit/blister clusters And I like pomegranates too..

must be the insides of them then, do you cringe when thinking about it????

I used to know a lad like this. He couldn't have them or their derivative's anywhere near him. He once put something forcibly into the bin and was splashed by tomato sauce, he thought he was being attacked by the sauce and was quite disturbed

I think he used to smoke too much weed

The worst thing is if someone, say, makes a ham and tomato sandwich for you and you politely say "No tomatoes thanks" - BUT THEY JUST TAKE THE TOMATO OUT AND GIVE YOU THE SANDWICH WITH ALL THE SEEDS STILL ON THE HAM!!! Aaaah!

He-he! DH also flips out if I use the same knife, or if there is juice on the cutting board

I hate that too. Nothing worse than a lettuce leaf covered in tomato pips when you have specifically asked for no tomato. I am a waitresses nightmare.

I don't like gravy either - it causes such a lot of hassle you wouldn't believe.

Not scared of gravy, just don't like it btw.

tbh i'm okay with eating them without the seeds of course. the seeds just freak me out. i got so scared when i had to take the seeds out. i just felt chills. i couldn't handle looking at the seeds so i just looked away.

I very much dislike raw tomatoes.
