Cake Recipe for Cake Mould

Hi, need a recipe to use with a cake mould. Tried Nigellas buttermilk once and had big disaster! Its for my mums 60th and hiring a '6' and a '0'. Did if before for dh's parents, but lost recipe! Needs to be simple because dd wants to do it!

ANy suggestions?

How about a failr ordinary madeira type cake - they tend to be a bit more solid than sponges

8oz plain flour
1tsp baking powder
6oz butter
6oz caster sugar
1/2 grated lemon rind
3 eggs
2 tbsp milk

Thanks Tommy, hadn't thought about asking the cake tin hire place! I always find if I get dd to do it it doesnt matter to some extent what it turns out like, its the thought that counts!
