Asparagus for babies

Just a quickie....does anyone know if its safe to give asparagus to a 9 m/o baby.

i've given ds (who is nearing 10months) steamed asparagus as finger food for about 2 months or so now. i've never read/seen anywhere about not giving it to them at this age..
