Rapeseed Oil any alternative?

Hi I have a recipe for a banana loaf which states 4tbsp of rapeseed oil. Have hunted high and low and rummaged through many supermarket shelves but can't find any. Can anyone suggest an alternative. Hubby has brought in grapeseed oil.

when i make a banana loaf i just use normal sunflower seed oil or vegetable oil and it turns out ok

Tis on the bottom shelf in Sainsbury's as I think no one buys it as it is very expensive.

What's wrong with rapeseed oil? You'll find that most oils marked Vegetable Oil are in fact rapeseed when you read the bottle. I heard that rapeseed oil is pretty healthy with low saturated fat even in comparison to olive!

isn't pure vegetable oil made from rapeseed?

Most veg oil is rapeseed - it's those pretty yellow flowers on the front.
It's a mono-unsaturate just like olive oil, and has all the same health benefits.

Thanks to all who replied. You were right Nabster - did finally get it from Sainsburys.

Wish I could say it was delicious but it was blooming horrible.
Trying to get into this batch baking malarky so I'm sure I'll be picking your brains again.

I wouldn't touch it - it was developed as an engineering oil - worth researching effects maybe

I have a friend who grows it. I prefer the taste to olive oil. It’s much creamier.

I’ve only ever used the supermarket stuff for frying.
