Nigellas Festrive Ham? or just roasting ham generally...

I've made Nigellas Festive Ham twice and each time it's tasted gorgeous BUT totally fell apart in oven. So you can't slice it, you can only shred it.

The recipe says to boil it first, which I have been doing.

Any ideas?

I roast hams most weeks - but I just put them straight in the oven. Usually a tesco healthy living one, it just goes in for 1 hour loosely covered in foil then 20 mins uncovered. It slices fine. I think you must be giving it too long overall if it falls apart.

ahh...so you think it's putting it in oven too long rather than the boiling that makes it fall apart?

This happened to me once and I realised I had bought a bacon joint instead of a gammon joint - the end result is very different.
