I have now cleaned out another cupboard and unearthed a jar of very lazy chillies dated Feb 2004 also some curry powder from May 2004 and some black peppercorns dated Jan 2002. I binned them. Honest.
But more interestingly, there is a jar of posh honey (the kind that comes in a ceramic jar with its own drizzly thing) that I do not recall the provenance of and that has no best before date. It could be anything from 2 to 6 years old. It is sealed. Can I use it?

OK, so we have a clear consensus that the honey is fine.
