Pizza express pizza with 12 March use by date

... can I eat it? Its quattro formaggi. DH bought it for me for tonight on Thursday but I've just checked and its out of date

I'd be inclined not to but its annoying and a waste of money. What do you think?

I'd give it a sniff - if it seems ok it probably is. Probably wouldn't take a chance on meat, but cheese probably ok...

Actually, take it out the fridge for 5 or 10 minutes, then sniff - things don't usually pong when they're still really cold...

It should be fine for a few more days! They put the date to cover their backs you know....just in case!

it'll be fine - those dates are over cautious and cheese is preserved anyway.

Thanks - looks like pizza after all then. When you think about it, there's not much in a cheese pizza that would go off quickly is there?!

I would definately eat it..what can go wrong with pizza out of date????..used to work in the food industry and the dates have a huge margin on them...cheese industry. Put on there for people that may use them after a week or so IMHO. Hope it is good
