How about something stodgy and comfort-food like?

Apple sponge served with hot custard from a flask (I've no idea whether that would work BTW it just sprung into my head )

Too much to carry! Good idea though.

chocolate brownies? I don't have a recipe but it seems like a good picnic, delicious, easily carried pudding?

MamaG · 12/03/2009 17:42

If i do choc brownies, Ican only do suzywongs. You can't compete with them. But they are a bit of a faff

Homemade biscuits?

Chocolate truffles?

Fruit salad? {too boring?}

Chocolate tart?

Any kind of cake?

MamaG · 12/03/2009 17:45

Yeah I might do a cake. I'm looking for inspiration really, something new, easy to make, easy to transport but delicious!

I'd go for the truffles then - they always seem so glamourous and people are always impressed but they're easy to make (relatively) and definitely easy to transport and serve?

If you do truffles defo recommend the avoca recipe.

I like fruit cake out of doors. Can also be served with custard.

Bread pudding is good comfort food.
