I have made coleslaw but I have half a white cabbage left and I don't know what to do with it (and it was the smallest one for sale!)

add to stir fry; fry with mustard seeds and a squeeze of lemon and serve with meat of some sort; I used to quite like it with caesar dressing!

make garlic butter with crushed coriander seeds in it - add to boiled cabbage with lots of salt and pepper. Yummy - I made it the other night but put a bit too much garlic in. Still good though.

Oh, I didn't know you can boil white cabbage.

Slice thinly and boil in salted water for 3-4 minutes until just tender.

Drain.

In the pan you cooked the cabbage in, add a dollop of butter and fry a finely sliced onion. Season with black pepper and salt.

Tip drained cabbage back into the pan, stir round, then cover and turn the heat down to the lowest setting. Cook gently for 10 minutes.

Add the juice of a lemon, stir, re-cover and cook for another 5 minutes or so, or until you're ready to serve.
