coconut cake with pink icing

My MIL has asked me to make her a coconut cake with pink icing, I assume I just make a coconut sponge & slap pink icing on top?

Or do coconut cakes usually come with a filling in them?

Never even thought about putting coconut in a cake tbh so haven't a clue what I'm doing with this one. (I stick to chocolate usually )

Sounds fine, you could always have extra coconut to sprinkle on top, perhaps a normal butter cream in the middle to split the cake up. I would normally do Chocolate to!
