1st birthday party

What would be a good menu for a 1st birthday party? I know 2 of the little guests are following quite restricted diets, in one case because of multiple allergies and the other one because of family atopy. Also, we have mostly done baby led weaning, but my friends' children haven't.

We can of course confer as mums about what to provide but ideas that have worked would be very welcome!

I am also wondering what sort of cake if any would be possible!

Made this for dd's first birthday - dead easy - sponge cake base, shape as required, cover in either frosting or (as I did) yoghurt mixed with fruit puree (despite doing BLW!) and cover with fruit. Dead easy and serves as snack too!

Can I make a sponge without using eggs or dairy?

Um. Might be worth posting that on the Allergies section, or searching there. You can certainly make them without dairy.

No idea what this would be like.

And thank you!

Just put allergy egg dairy cake into the MN search and you'll get loads of ideas.
