Chocolate curls

What's the best chocolate to use in order to make choc curls? All the choc bars I can think of come in chunks...will that not affect the 'curling'?!?

You melt the chocolate and make it into an oblong shape the size of half a butter pack, that way you can slide the curler along the top and take of the chocolate curl?

Ah...was hoping not to have to do that! Just want maximum effect for very little effort

turn the chocolate bar over and use the flat side which is not 'chunked' if thats the right word!
