Am thinking of a bolognese sauce with it but my children don't eat beef or lamb mince bolognese so maybe other options?

I have made these before and they were lovely. Not too spicy. I made them with red Thai curry paste.

There are some nice turkey/ chicken meatballs in The Dinner Lady cookbook - let me know if you want the recipe

We were told about turkey and apple burgers at WW the other day. I thought they sounded quite nice.

Or meatballs?

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/03/2009 16:59

450g (1lb) minced chicken/ turkey
115g (4oz) cheddar cheese (grated)
1 egg
115g (4oz) breadcrumbs
2 tsp dried mixed herbs
2 Tbsp olive oil

Put the mince in a bowl. Add the cheese, beaten egg, breadcrumbs and mixed herbs to the mince and mix well. Shape the mixture into balls and chill for 30 minutes in the fridge.

Fry in the olive oil until brown on all sides. Keep moving the meatballs around as the cheese makes them sticky!

Add some tomato pasta sauce and simmer for 20 minutes or so, depending on the size of the meatballs. Serve on pasta.

There is a recipe for fresh tomato sauce if you want?

Enjoy

Good point christiana, it does say that you can brown them in the oven in a greased tin on 180 degrees instead, though not how long it takes .

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/03/2009 17:46

Well thanks all. i have been shamefully neglecting dinner and Children and think will do meatballs tomorrow as they need time to chill etc
so will be having sainsbury's chicken kievs now instead.

Fair enough!

we've been attempting the same thing with Turkey mince but for health reasons, so useful thread here. Our first attempt was making our normal chilli recipe with it, fantastic, tasted delicious and hardly able to tell the diference.
