open the tin, chuck on top of toasted bread.

Am I on candid camera?

  1. Toast bread.
  2. Open tin of sardines.
(Are they in tomato sauce? If not, dreain them, and add tomato sauce)
  1. Mash sardines and spread on toast.

not hugely compicated

silly

hatwoman · 04/03/2009 22:01

I'm pmsl. but completely unsure as to wether I'm meant to be.

bolshybolshevik · 04/03/2009 22:01

I did think it was that easy frumpy but thought it pointless to just lay them on top as dd would no doubt throw them on the floor and eat the bread.

I wasnt sure if I should grill them or what, bit now I know to mash them, thanks fromgirders

i doubt very much your 15 month old will like them,
but good like toasting the bread

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 04/03/2009 22:04

My mum always used to mash - including bones as they go very soft and are good for you. You can take of the skin and the little bit of 'fin' if it offends. Then it's spread onto toast, then toasted, a la cheese on toast.

frumpygrumpy · 04/03/2009 22:04

Oh right, I see!!! They are cooked so no need to grill but you can do that if you'd like them warmed up.

fishie · 04/03/2009 22:06

i think it is nicer if you toast the bread less on one side. open sardines up and remove spines, mash and then grill a bit but you have to be careful not to burn the toast.

also are you using in tomato or oil? i wouldn't add tomato sauce if in oil. i like them best with tabasco which won't do for 15mo.

bolshybolshevik · 04/03/2009 22:06

Ah so spread then toast.

Those shall mock but I just learnt a new trick.

Slarty dd is a fish fiend and gobbles all types up including my homemade mackeral pate so I am confident

LGoodLife · 04/03/2009 22:22

I like mine with not tomato sauce but a squeeze of lemon on them.

bolshybolshevik · 04/03/2009 22:35
