8oz plain flour
3 oz castor sugar
few drops vanilla essence
6oz unsalted butter

Put the flour and sugar and vanilla essence into a mixing bowl, add the butter and rub it in until well mixed. Bring the mixture together with your hands and knead gently to form a smooth dough, roll out to 1/4" thickness and cut into shapes (my dd likes to have a template made from her hand which she can then decorate with nails, bracelet etc, or just use a cutter). Re-roll trimmings to make more biscuits.

Put onto a baking sheet, bake for 10 mins at 160C GM3. Leave to cool on the baking sheets.

The kids can decorate them with icing, jelly tots, raisins and so on if you like or just eat as they come.
