will they be ok now I've turned it down (or should that be up?) again.......

I thought my milk had gone off dramatically just now as it was half solid - they I realised it was frozen - felt everything else and the block of cheese is solid, and I'm guessing the inside of the eggs are too.......

Don't know about eggs but cheese & milk will be.

cheese should be ok, as you can freeze it if you want to - might be a bit crumbly in texture.

no idea abouit eggs, though

Milk is supposed to be ok but i always chuck it.

Yesterday i had diet coke slushies as the cans had half frozen.

It's far too easy to turn the temp of my fridge down, it happens at least once a month.

FAQinglovely · 04/03/2009 13:32

I'd turned it down because it had been off for over 24hrs and wanted it chilled as quick as possible - but then forgot about it.

Glad the milk will be ok - I've just given DS3 a bottle of it (warmed up) before checking for responses.

Can cope with crumbly cheese.

So it's just the eggs - there's 10 left out of a pack of large free range ones - so quite a lot of money going to waste if I can't use them now .

On the plus side my Mangers are SUPER chilled ready for tonight lol.

I'd try the eggs, unless someone or google has a good reason not to.

Horton · 04/03/2009 14:23

The eggs would probably be okay to scramble or make into cakes or pancakes or something. I don't think I'd recommend frying or poaching!

PortAndLemon · 04/03/2009 14:30

Milk will be fine (my mother always keeps a few pints of milk in the freezer for emergencies). Cheese will be fine.

It depends with the eggs you can freeze raw egg white or beaten raw eggs, but not raw egg yolk IIRC. So it will potentially depend (given that the white and yolk are separate within the egg) on how frozen the eggs got give a couple of them a try scrambled or in an omelette and see.

i would chuck the eggs i think, but the rest fine. Always got half frozen food in my house, depending where it is placed in the fridge!

Or try one egg yourself cooked. I really dont think it would be worth risking it for your littlies.
