Can Weaning Involve Salmon?

DS wolfs down white fish mush - is it OK to give him salmon mush? He's nearly 8 months.

What a good eater you have there. Yes you can give them salmon at that age. Great for the brain too as it is oily fish.

I would say ok, just check for bones! (as usual) I'd also just check the fish doesn't have any dodgy things in it on the label...as there was that scare re salmon last year, carrying odd minerals....was it mercury? sorry can't remember.

You might find this information from the food standards agency helpful.

There is also this correspondence on the same subject from a few years ago, when the mercury issue was first raised.
