Hi. I have a recipe for meatballs for 4-5 people (although only need 2-3 but will freeze if spare). It asks for a LARGE tin of chopped tomatos. What would you say this is? I have the normal 400g tins? I have more than one so can use 2 if needed but have already messed up 2 reciepes this week so don't want to do it again!

Please tell me what you think!

What is pasta arabiatta? I am doing slimming world but most reciepes can fit in with that? We love pasta and you can eat as much as you like on SW so sounds good!

Yes I use tinned tomatoes quite a bit - shame they seem to have suddenly shot up in price - they used to be 9p a tin or something silly for the value ones, now they are nearly 40p!!

The sauce on the meatballs was gorgeous, probably the best meatball sauce I have ever had. Possibly even the best pasta sauce! Think the framage frais really helped as made it creamy - I have never done this before. Can you do this in other sauces?

Arabiatta is basically "spicey".

I fry veges in a little oil (I usually do onions, peppers, celery, mushrooms - but you can do whatever). Add garlic and a veg oxo

Throw on 2 tins of tomatoes (for a good portion for 4). simmer while you boil pasta.

I thicken then with cornflour.
At this stage you can add strips of ham or pepperoni...if you want).

Drain the pasta and add to sauce. Add crushed chilli from the herb and spice rack (a very good friend) to taste

I like serving topped with cheese and with garlic bread (but perhaps not the best on SW )

Crushed chilli's are a fantastic friend. If you are cooking for children that don't like spice you can add them at the table as they don't need cooking out. Kids get pasta in tomato sauce. Adults get pasta arabiatta! Same with chilli con carne or curry or pizza.

If you have leftovers you can sling it in an ovenproof dish top with chees, bake for 20 mins and you have pasta bake!

Hi,
This may seem a strange request !
But I'm looking for a large tin or aluminium can,
as near to these sizes...

Dia: 3.6 inches (92mm) (82mm to 92mm)
Length: 5.9 inches (150mm) (or longer)

So I was thinking of using a can that contains some food etc,
so chunks of beef, beans, tomatoes, etc, etc.

Can anyone suggest something that you have, that you know fits these sizes.

Obviously It needs to be something that I can get locally in the UK.

Many thanks
