Can anyone remember roughly what the 'spinach layer' of beef florentine is????

I first spotted the recipe on ocado recently but it's gone. I've contacted them but heard nothing back.

I can remember, grated cheese, couple of eggs and spinach BUT there's something else and i can't rememeber what it is!!!!

Would it be new potatoes?

We do a haddock florentine at work at it has them in.

nutmeg to bring out out flavour?

or maybe some beef in your beef florentine...?

It's just the spinach layer that I'm having trouble with - it definitely has beef in and I do use mash instead of filo pastry on the top! I just remember something else that made it taste quite tangy and strong.....i don't think that could have been nutmeg although that is a good thing to add too!

tangy and strong eh? black mustard seeds? paprika? or is it not spice? feta cheese??

no it's not a spice - a different kind of cheese i think but not feta. dammit!

I use Gruyere or Emmental.

ah. mixed with cheddar or each other or just one?

Either mixed with cheddar is yum.
