She will be one of a party of 7 and I would really (ideally ) like to do something everyone can eat, rather than do something different.

Would like to spend as much time with my guests as possible so easy would be good.

Any ideas for main and dessert ?(no fruit salad-'tis for wimps )

sorbet for dessert

roast chicken for main

twoluvlykids · 17/02/2009 18:30

chicken

separate veg and/or salad

risotto

casserole without tomatoes

dessert - crumble (can she eat marg/butter?)

Littlefish · 17/02/2009 18:30

Jamie Oliver's chicken, Leek & thyme pie, served with sweetcorn, carrots and mashed potatoes.

I am assuming no dairy means all butter, cream, milk etc so crumble probably out-although veg margarine may be ok

Like thous sound of the pie but pastry may have same issue as crumble?

Did think about slow roast pork....

you can use Pure margarine (get the sunflower one) which is vegan. makes ok crumble and pastry.

otherwise a fruit salad?

agree with roast for dinner, easiest option I reckon

thisisyesterday · 17/02/2009 19:13

a lot of bought pastries don't have any dairy in them either.

ChampagneDahling · 17/02/2009 19:51

Delia's slow roast belly pork - layers of onion, belly pork, dry cure bacon and sliced apple - yummmmm! Although your friend sounds like pita tbh

FrazzledFairyFay · 17/02/2009 19:55

A roast?

whooosh · 18/02/2009 08:37

Thank you all.

Roast of some decription then (like the sound of pork belly) and will hunt down some Pure and do a crumble I reckon.

Champagne-it is a PITA but she has severe crohns and is about to have a full colostomy so I can't really moan.
