'In the night garden' birthday cake?

Does anyone know where I could buy an 'In the night garden' themed birthday cake? My soon to be two year old ds is mad about it and I know he'd love an Iggle Piggle cake... but unfortunately my icing skills are nowhere near up to it!!

I think I've seen them in Sainsbury's (I'm in Central London). When I was searching for a Power Rangers cake they were really helpful and managed to get one specially delivered to my branch for me from another store, at no charge.

Thanks basement - I'll check out the website and see if there's anything there...

Asda also do them - I had one for DS3's birthday.

Yes, Sainsbury's did one (or did last year when ds was 1) but I think it has both Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy .

I am just about to do one for DS3. Vey easy - just ice an obling cake with butter icing, cover icing with green dessicated coconut to look like grass and put plastic ITNG figures on top.

Don't know yet what it will look like - doing it tonight after he's gone to bed!
Will let you know

Will be interested to hear about your cake Tommy Unfortunately any cake I ever attempt to make ends up looking like a mountain of mud (although perhaps that would work with the plastic figures on the top!) There's one on the Asda website with both Iggle and Upsy (which will keep ds AND dd happy!) so I'll probably go with that.
Thank you all for your help!

I've done it now and I'm very pleased with it

I might try and upload a photo - would be my first ever one on MN

Tommy · 14/02/2009 20:36

blimey - I've managed to put the photo up. I think you just click on my name..

Just had DD2 birthday tea with Upsy Daisy cake. Just cooked normal round chocolate sponge and used it as Upsy Daisy's face. Covered the whole thing in melted chocolate and let it set. Then white ready roll icing dyed with food colouring to make hair sausage thingys and eyes eyebrows etc and terry's chocolate orange sliver for mouth and eyelids, and giant choclate button for nose. Not hugely sophisticated, but easy and she loved it. Would upload picture but have no idea how to do that!

babypringle · 14/02/2009 21:12

Did an even easier one - made sponge cake and cut into shape of igglepiggles boat. Decorated the boat with blue and yellow ready-to-roll icing. Then put (freshly washed) soft igglepiggle toy on top, and covered with a red icing blanket. I'll try to add a picture to my profile!

babypringle · 14/02/2009 21:15

I think I've added a pic to my profile!

Tommy · 14/02/2009 22:28

that's great babypringle. I'm glad it's not just me that cheats with the birthday cakes
It looks really effective and I'm sure your DD(S?) loved it

lucysmam · 15/02/2009 09:21

babypringle, I love Iggle in his boat! what a fab idea . . . looks great

Bumperslucious · 15/02/2009 09:36

Babypringle, that looks fab. Tommy I couldn't see your profile.

Tommy · 15/02/2009 22:20

no - not sure what happened there. It was very successful anyway! Everyone was very impressed

geraldinetheluckygoat · 15/02/2009 22:23

I make kids birthday cakes, recently did one with iggle on top with his blanket, and multi coloured polka dots all over....where abouts are you? Im in bedford!

Baybeelurve · 17/02/2009 20:12

There is a really cool website which has easy to follow night garden patterns so you can make iggle piggle, upsy daisy or makka pakka. I did the peppa pig one and it looked just like the picture. www.bake-my-cakes.com
