I decide to make chocolate truffles for DP for Valentines day 2moro. I made up the cream, added the chocolate and some vanilla etc. I continued to stir it in bowl over pot of simmering water. DS shouted on me to get his new book down from mantle, and I ended up reading to him for about 5mins. Suddenly remebred about truffle mix, came back thru to kitchen, and it looks like it has split/separated. ARGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Now I need to know if anyone has any tips? Can it be saved> Or should me and DS just get the spoons out......

get the spoons, oh my goodness I so wish I could join you.

Get the whisk out, and beat like crazy off the heat

ib · 13/02/2009 19:52

Add a bit of cold cream and stir hard until it re-joins. Usually does the trick for me.

I would try whisking it gently and seeing if it comes round or make it into a pre valentines day chocolate fondue style

Antdamm · 13/02/2009 19:53

thanks Cmot - off to get whisk

Im not ready to get out the spoons just yet. Have already made an assortment of shortbread biscuits (heart shaped) and a chocolate cake (also heart shaped) and I made some brownies (not heart shaped, but if i get bored......)

You can probably tell I had a slow, boring day today

I m chucking them in the fridge now, so they can be melon balled 2moro for my DP.

Anybody else as crazy as me and making lots of crap for their DP/DH for 2moro?
