Chocolate icing recipe please

Need grown-up chocolate icing recipe to ice birthday cake, which will also be palatable to children.

Ideas please.

Was going to do Nigella's choc ganache but does not look sweet enough for dc.

TBH you can't go far wrong with a good quality chocolate spread.

Plain chocolate, obviously...

melt chocolate (carefully, until just melted), stir in double cream, gradually until it's mixed in then add more. Makes delish ganache EVERYONE loves!

Kbear That's Nigella's recipe but if I use top quality 70% cocoa chocolate it won't be sweet enough, surely?

Can't you just use milk chocolate instead?

Thanks all, made the chocolate ganache using half 70% half 35% choc and double cream.

Was great, will definitely do it again.
